Allergy season is upon us again. This year we have often experienced Spring “flirting” with Winter. This means flowers are surfacing prematurely, weeds and grasses are growing, Crocuses’ are blooming and I just saw my first Hyacinth popping up out of the ground yesterday. And, as early as late February, patients have frequently been coming into the office this year with sinus congestion, runny noses and wheezing.

Attention allergy sufferers, NAET may be the answer you are looking for. NAET
(Nambudripad Allergy Elimination Technique) is a medication-free, allergy relief technique which incorporates the medical disciplines of Chiropractic, Acupuncture, Biochemistry and Kinesiology Testing. I call it “Acupuncture-Fusion”. Needles are not even essential to the treatment protocol. We can use an Acupressure devise or a cold-laser light to stimulate the Acupuncture points for the “needle-shy” person. The NAET protocol was created in 1983 and there are well over 16,000 practitioners worldwide. Simply stated, the NAET protocol resets the nervous system to accept the allergen without medication. There are no use of medications, inhalers and anti-histamines in the treatment protocol. A regular user of such drugs will be weaned off the drug protocol gracefully and in a timely manner.

An allergy can be expressed in many more ways than most people expect. Any system in the body can be affected by an allergen. The Respiratory system may present with; shortness of breath, wheezing, sinus congestion, sneezing and spontaneous sweating. The cardiovascular system may present with a rapid heartbeat, atrial fibrillation and chest tightness. The integumentary or skin system often presents with a rash in patches or throughout the body, open skin sores; which can be an extreme eczema condition or skin dryness and itching. The entire body system can shut down with an extreme sensitivity to an allergen as in an anaphylaxis shock which would require an immediate treatment usually with an epi-pen to inject the body with epinephrine.

It is possible to be allergic to anything, not just the usual suspects such as wheat, peanuts, animal dander, pollen and molds. Some common examples of allergens are salt, sugar, caffeine, spice, alcohol, food coloring/additives, cotton, paper, artificial sweeteners, cleaning agents, god, silver, petroleum products and on and on. When least expected an allergen could be the cause to your health problems. Other common pathologies such as autoimmune disorders, Chronic Fatigue, Fibromyalgia, Depression, Systemic Inflammation, frequent common colds, Eczema, Psoriasis, irregular menstrual cycles, and many other illnesses may be allergy related.

Hundreds of NAET videos are available on YouTube to get a better understanding of this powerful, safe, clean and simple protocol. A very thorough and meticulous health history is paramount to getting results with NAET. As I have mentioned many times, spending the proper time with the patient and with the proper care is key to a speedy recovery with any of your healthcare practitioners.

May all your deepest wishes come to ‘flower’ with the joy of Spring in the air.
