Acupuncture to Promote a Healing Environment

It has been said many times that, “a journey of a thousand miles is started with a single step.” A single step may be represented by the helping hand of a friend or family member to assist you in a new chapter of your life such as overcoming the obstacle of taking on a new job, ending a relationship, the stress of buying a new home or car, going back to college to re-educate yourself and the list goes on and on….. Acupuncture may also be that single step of creating a healthier lifestyle for yourself. That single step may also be represented by the word momentum. Acupuncture can give the body a “jump start” by clearing stuck energy pathways in any system of the body such as your endocrine system, the respiratory system, the digestive system, the cardiac system, the muscular-skeletal system and particularly the nervous system which is the primary regulatory/detector system of the entire body.  Acupuncture can also help tonify the immune system of the body which is constantly monitoring and preventing the onset of disease to take place by triggering hormonal responses which are messenger molecules that are delivered to the nerve, blood and lymph vessels. Acupuncture points are the portals, the switches, the terminals, the pools of energy activations, the release points or the gates to open and assist the body to achieve homeostasis or balance in the body. You say to yourself, “What does gates, portal, switches, pools and terminals represent?” They represent bio-electrical access points on the body that have been calculated and measured scientifically through at least 2000 years of clinical experience and dates.

Patients commonly come into my office to get treated for headaches, migraines, anxiety, stress, depression, post- traumatic stress disorders, acid reflux, back and neck pain, sciatica, TMJ (temporo-mandibular joint pain), frozen shoulder, carpal tunnel syndrome, post chemo and first trimester nausea. Also, any addictions such as alcohol, food, gambling and cigarette smoking.

Many times patients come into the office and are in a tremendous amount of PAIN and they are only getting worse daily. Our goal for the first treatment is to get some pain relief and start to create a healing environment. Again as stated above, we are creating some momentum for a speedy recovery and balance of the body.

You and your body start to get very familiar with the effects of Acupuncture after just a few sessions. Many people come to get treated for preventative health reasons   particularly to de-stress after their health problem have been remedied. Acupuncture can become a part of your weekly or monthly health maintenance program.  Acupuncture can be a part of this journey in life and help you to move further in your process of physical, mental, spiritual  and emotional growth.
